Highview Kindergarten - Vision Statement

At Highview Kindergarten we strive to create a happy atmosphere where learning is fun, challenging and meets children’s individual needs. A place where children, parents and staff work and learn together to support children in reaching their full potential. We support and nurture curiosity, well-being, and learning.

We believe children learn most effectively by using all their senses and through activities and first-hand experiences of their own choice. Our environment is carefully planned to allow children to grow and thrive.

Each child is unique and special, they have different needs, wants and interests that make them who they are. We are the one of the first and most important steps in a child’s journey in learning.

We aim to:

Create a safe, secure, happy, caring and stimulating environment where everyone feels valued, included, and respected.
Focus on how individual children learn and develop and what makes them special
Encourage children to grow in confidence and self-esteem.
Create an environment are encouraged to make choices and decisions and grow in independence and to develop a culture of ambition and achievement.
To create a nursery which feels like home and to provide an extended family environment.
Plan learning opportunities to challenge all children, incorporating the Birth to Five framework, with a holistic approach.
Promote Well-being, Equal opportunities, Inclusion, and respect.
Provide open-ended, responsive, appropriate learning opportunities.
Promote a healthy and active lifestyle.
Challenge stereotyping and discrimination.
Encourage children to co-operate with and respect each other.
Making the best of all the resources we have available to us.
To develop a shared vision for the future of Highview Kindergarten.

We also aim to support parents in their role and value their contributions and knowledge of their own children. With this in mind we aim to provide supportive induction procedures and effective systems of communication.

Practitioners play an important role in our provision and our vision, we at Highview Kindergarten aim to provide skilled, motivated, and committed staff. We also aim to ensure that all staff have access to quality ongoing professional development opportunities and training.
